Job Description

The Manager on Duty, "MOD" is responsible for addressing any immediate guest and employee complaints/issues in a constructive and service oriented manner, whether written or verbal. Frequently tours all lower level common areas and amenities of the resort to ensure guest service and guest satisfaction are being delivered and the areas are safe and secure as well as clean and orderly. Assigns or reassigns staff to service areas as needed to meet guest demand. Ensures all employees are conducting themselves in accordance with their individual department policies and procedures. Responds to guest/employee injury/illnesses as well as general security needs, ie) noise complaints, intoxication and smoking. Fills voids where necessary to ensure customers are being serviced to a high degree within the Guest Service Attendant, Front Desk, Night Audit or Driver/Bellperson Departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Serve as MOD and first line of defense for any problem that should arise. Is accessible at all times by walkie-talkie, cell phone, or in house phone, and responds quickly and diligently to all requests for manager intervention or assistance. Make frequent rounds of the lower level common areas and water amenities. Redirect employees who are found not to be meeting their respective job duties or are out of area. Reprimands if necessary and reports all such occurrences to the department head or to upper management. Conduct oneself at all times in the best interest of the resort, its owners and its guests. Performs duties with integrity while protecting the assets of the company and its owners. Assist as necessary within the Guest Services Department (GSA, Front Desk, Bellperson and Night Audit) or takes measures to get additional staff to handle guest demand when needed. Leans and trains the ins and outs of the Sundara Way and Guest Services Departments, their processes, procedures and checklists. When making rounds be alert to general property cleanliness, guest & employee safety & security and immediately address areas that need attention. When called upon to handle a guest complaint make every effort to resolve the problem to the satisfaction of the customer. Respond to all guest or property emergency situations in a timely fashion. Complete a nightly report of shift encounters and incidents and copies the correct Supervisors/Managers/Directors. Take the necessary actions to create an atmosphere conducive to the best possible employee-employer relationship. Work directly with the Managers to ensure proper day to day functions of the Guest Services Departments and Resort.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays. Full time open availability is required. .Requires good negotiation and listening skills. Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate people. Ability to act independently with little supervision. Hands on manager, well organized, detail oriented, creative thinker. Skilled in problem solving and staff training. Efficiently handles multiple duties. Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, word processing, spreadsheets, voice mail, copier, fax, and calculator. Requires a good understanding of company policies and procedures. Working knowledge of resort amenities, room designs, spa services and general Sundara knowledge. Good attendance and is punctual. Exhibits professionalism. Exhibits good grooming habits. Wears the proper uniform. Works efficiently. Follows all resort and office policies and standard operating procedures. Conducts themselves in a professional manner with a positive attitude.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS A
valid WI driver's license. CPR/AED and EMR training preferred, or ability to obtain
COMPENSATION
$18.00 per hour plus service charge bonus of approximately $1.50/hr or more. Plus competitive discounts and excellent benefits!
