Job Description
Accommodations & Guest Services Manager This Managerial position calls for a hands-on leader, responsible for overseeing daily operations across the various boutique accommodations within our resort. This role focuses on supervising reception and housekeeping teams, maintaining impeccable cleanliness and order, resolving guest queries and issues, and supporting reservations with a solid understanding of our full resort offering—including excursions and packages, dining and events—to facilitate upselling and seamless coordination across departments and with third-party vendors. Attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential in our remote wilderness setting. What will the role entail? Lead, schedule, and supervise a small team consisting of reception/guest services, reservations & bookings and housekeeping (4-6 staff) to maintain consistent high standards Directly manage the housekeeping team, ensuring personalized, high-quality cleaning standards tailored to each property and guest stay Oversee reception/guest services operations, handling queries and making reservations, ensuring smooth check-ins, check-outs, and daily front desk coverage Assign shifts and handle staffing needs Master Cloudbeds PMS for multi-property reservations, inventory management, and accurate booking coordination with strong attention to detail Develop a workable knowledge of all resort offerings; including planned events, dining, excursions, package deals, and third-party tour partners (glacier hikes, rafting, flightseeing, etc.) so that you are ready and able to inform guests and support Sales & Marketing in upselling during reservations Sales/ upselling- dining offerings, ensuring guests know about events, the overall resort and the wider area; including third party suppliers that provide excursions and experiences.
Maintain overall property appearance:
regularly inspect rooms, common areas, and grounds to keep everything clean, organized, and in excellent repair, stepping in hands-on as needed Take ownership of ensuring the maintenance of all accommodation and lodging, working closely with the maintenance department to ensure standards are met Act as the primary point for resolving guest queries, complaints, and immediate issues with calm, effective problem-solving to ensure total satisfaction Coordinate closely with maintenance, food & beverage, and shuttle teams for seamless daily operations and guest hand-offs Conduct regular team check-ins, provide ongoing training/feedback, and address operational challenges proactively Remain fully hands-on during busy periods—assisting with cleaning oversight, front desk coverage, or guest needs (everybody works!) Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills—both verbal and written Ability to work unsupervised, prioritize tasks, make quick decisions, and thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment Willing and able to work varying shifts, weekends, splits, evenings, and holidays as needed.HOUSING AND FOOD IS INCLUDED
Internet (wifi) available. Free wifi is always available. Local hi-speed wifi for $40 month is available. Verizon is the only cell company that works in Wrangell St-Elias National Park. Download WhatsApp for Voip use. All housing options include showers, laundry and kitchen use, as well as free food provided for you to cook and clean up after yourself. All housing includes meal program of stocked kitchens for most items needed for meals. Staff cook and clean up after themselves in shared employee kitchens. Items provided include all basics as well as most produce and proteins. A complete list of Pantry, refrigerated and frozen items provided for staff is available to employees. Most staff supplement their kitchen with some out of pocket expenses including eating at restaurants in the area, having Amazon products shipped in, purchases in town and at grocery stores in McCarthy, Valdez or Glennallen. Expect the majority of what you need on site and at no cost, but also expect your dietary substitutes to be your responsibility. Dietary issues and preferences such as Celiac, Vegans and vegetarians have an especially difficult time in remote locations due to logistics of special item needs.Pay:
