POSITION SUMMARY
The Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all beverage operations within the property, including bars, lounges, restaurants, and banquet beverage service. This role manages beverage programs, supervises bar staff, controls inventory, and ensures high standards of service and product quality. The Beverage Manager works closely with the Food & Beverage leadership team to create innovative beverage offerings while maintaining Coury Hospitality's commitment to exceptional guest experiences, responsible alcohol service, and operational excellence.PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Develop, implement, and maintain beverage programs including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverage offerings. Ensure beverage menus align with brand standards and guest preferences. Introduce seasonal and specialty beverage offerings to enhance the guest experience. Oversee daily operations of bars, lounges, and beverage service areas. Ensure efficient beverage service and maintain high standards of quality and presentation. Monitor service flow to ensure guests receive timely and attentive service. Supervise bartenders, barbacks, lounge attendants, and beverage service staff. Recruit, train, and develop beverage team members. Create staff schedules based on business volume and operational needs. Provide coaching and leadership to maintain excellent service standards. Manage beverage inventory including liquor, wine, beer, and bar supplies. Monitor beverage costs and implement strategies to control waste and maximize profitability. Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain accurate records. Develop relationships with beverage distributors and suppliers. Negotiate pricing and manage beverage purchasing with the Purchasing department. Ensure timely ordering and delivery of beverage products. Ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws and regulations. Enforce responsible beverage service practices. Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in all bar and beverage service areas. Interact with guests to ensure satisfaction with beverage offerings and service. Address guest concerns and resolve service issues promptly. Support special events and banquets requiring beverage service. Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager. Furthermore, tasks and responsibilities may be added or revised based on the volume of business and the need for the work to be completed at the present time.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred. 3-5 years of beverage or bar management experience in hospitality or restaurant environments. Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and beverage service standards. Experience managing inventory and controlling beverage costs. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching during service operations.
