As General Manager of the Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort, you will oversee a 584-room mountainside property featuring a championship golf club, expansive event and banquet space, and various food and beverage venues including a high-end full-service restaurant. This role requires a seasoned hospitality executive who can lead large, multi-department teams while driving operational excellence across rooms, food and beverage, golf, events, sales, revenue, and guest experience. You will set the strategic vision, cultivate a world-class service culture, and build strong relationships with ownership and brand partners. Role Highlights :
Provide executive leadership for an iconic Phoenix resort, directing a complex, full-service operation across rooms, food and beverage, golf, spa, events, sales, revenue strategy, and guest experience while partnering closely with ownership and brand stakeholders to drive performance, operational excellence, and long-term asset value. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the liaison between management and ownership, ensuring clear communication of strategic objectives, operational updates, and performance results. Facilitate alignment on goals and address ownership priorities to strengthen trust and accountability.
- Oversee all revenue-generating departments, including rooms and food and beverage, as well as housekeeping, engineering, and other operating areas.
- Partner with property leadership to create the resort's annual budget and monitor performance throughout the year.
- Ensure all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality standard checkbook accounting procedures.
- Ensure all departments are profitable and maintain strong working relationships.
- Forecast the resort's monthly financial position by estimating revenues and line-by-line expenses. Analyze previous and projected data to generate accurate reforecasts.
- Review pricing strategies and understand market segments.
- Respond quickly to changing market conditions and revise strategies accordingly.
- Actively participate in sales discussions, meetings, and planning. Maintain a strong understanding of key account executives, business base, and monthly production levels across the sales team.
- Promote resort policies and philosophies to employees and guests through direct and indirect interaction.
- Ensure the resort follows proper Human Resources guidelines.
- Walk all property outlets regularly and review preventative maintenance programs.
- Complete property Quality Assurance and franchise reviews as needed.
- Implement programs that meet corporate goals and objectives.
- Evaluate overall operations regularly and systematically report results to the President of the Full-Service Division.
- Ensure responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct reports are defined and understood.
- Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
- Always present a professional image through appearance and dress.
- Follow company policies and procedures and effectively communicate them to associates.
- Ensure the resort complies with all state and federal laws. Qualifications
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in a large, full-service resort environment; Hilton experience preferred.
- Proven leadership experience overseeing large, cross-functional teams across food and beverage, sales, revenue management, and operational departments, with strong communication skills, a focus on creating a positive, high-performance culture, and extensive owner-relations experience.
