We're looking for a dynamic Resort Manager / General Manager to help shape its future. Nestled along the scenic riverbank and accessible by both boat and vehicle, Scotty's is where great food, live music, and the laid-back charm of the water will come together. About Scotty's Landing An iconic Chico tradition, Scotty's Landing is being restored and revitalized under new ownership and management. The property will offer indoor and outdoor seating, a full-service bar and restaurant, a riverside patio with event stage, a boat launch and a future RV park. We will have live music, dinner specials, fishing tournaments, weddings and private events, serving boaters, fishermen, kayakers, paddleboarders, and locals alike. With its unique blend of hospitality, recreation, and history, Scotty's is a place where guests will come to relax, celebrate, and enjoy the best of a riverfront lifestyle. Position Overview We're seeking a passionate, results-driven Resort Manager / General Manager with a strong background in hospitality management to join our leadership team. This role will begin several months before reopening, offering the opportunity to play a key role in shaping operations, staff development, and guest experience from the ground up. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure excellence in service, and foster a collaborative, guest-focused culture. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, performs well under pressure, takes initiative, and enjoys building both teams and traditions. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement operations strategy for the restaurant, bar, and event spaces, including staffing, training, and scheduling. Assist in the design and layout of dining and patio areas, including equipment, furniture, and fixture needs. Oversee POS system setup, operation, and team training. Create and execute soft-opening plans, including menus, staffing, and promotional activities. Supervise resort operations including food and beverage service, event coordination, property and facility maintenance, and dock management. Maintain 'Current" status of all applicable licenses to carry out the business. Liaison between business and entities issuing all permits/licenses to operate. Liaison between insurance agents and owners and ensure coverage is maintained at all time Collaborate with ownership to improve efficiency and enhance the guest experience. Recruit, train, and motivate a high-performing team that reflects Scotty's culture of hospitality. Manage budgets, inventory, and financial reporting. Plan and coordinate community events such as live music, open mic nights, karaoke, and themed gatherings. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and licensing requirements. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in hospitality management, including bar, kitchen, events, and resort grounds operations. Previous experience launching or managing new resort or restaurant properties. Proven leadership and team-building skills in fast-paced environments. Strong communication and organizational abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with PMS, digital booking platforms and guest engagement tools. Proficiency in budgeting and financial reporting software. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field. Experience managing resort, hotel, or destination properties. Familiarity with Chico-area tourism and recreation trends.
