Job Description

VERSE is a refined, hospitality-driven dining destination centered on elevated Angeleno cuisine, an exceptional wine program, and an immersive acoustic environment. Serving a discerning clientele, we operate with disciplined standards rooted in intention, consistency, accountability, and revenue awareness. As VERSE continues its rapid growth and expanding market presence, we are seeking a Floor Manager to work in direct partnership with and report to Ownership. This role is integral to maintaining operational excellence while supporting structured growth. This position requires composure, leadership maturity, organizational discipline, and a strong sense of accountability. Position Overview The Floor Manager is a senior leadership presence within the dining room, staff training and some event management. Balancing live service leadership with structured revenue cultivation, and administrative oversight, this role plays a critical part in protecting standards while contributing to long-term development. Success in this role is measured by: Consistent execution of elevated service standards Strength, accountability, and development of the team Seamless event execution Revenue growth, retention, and referral Operational consistency during expansion Service Leadership Responsibilities Maintain visible, engaged floor presence during service Coordinate pacing between kitchen, bar, captains, and support staff Identify and correct service gaps in real time Deliver calm, direct coaching when standards require reinforcement Manage guest recovery with professionalism and emotional intelligence Protect wine service flow and revenue opportunities Support structured communication and lineup execution Step into operational roles when necessary Leadership style must be composed, decisive, collaborative, and accountable. Operational & Administrative Responsibilities Reservation oversight and floor plan optimization Accurate guest preference documentation End-of-night reporting and cash oversight Verification of side work and station resets Secure restaurant closing procedures Integrity and transparency are non-negotiable.
Qualifications & Professional Profile Required:
Prior floor management experience in an upscale or fine dining environment Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and service standards Revenue awareness and sales aptitude Active California Food Handler certification Active California RBS certification
Completion of California Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Preferred:
Fine dining background Wine education or certification (WSET, CMS, or equivalent) Established network within the hospitality or events community Experience with OpenTable, Toast, 7Shifts, Basecamp, KitchenSync, Choco, Paylocity, TipHouse, etc.
