This is a hands-on leadership role requiring daily engagement across every department•from walking the property and greeting guests to preparing ownership reports and driving the sales effort. The GM serves as the face of the hotel to guests, employees, vendors, and the broader community, and is ultimately responsible for achieving the property's operating goals.
Compensation:
$95,000•$125,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
Own the hotel's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and monthly management reporting to ownership Lead and develop all hotel employees through hiring, training, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching to Company standards Drive the sales and marketing effort by providing leadership to the sales team, participating in client calls and site tours, and assisting with the Annual Marketing Plan Maintain the physical asset through daily facility inspections, a documented preventive-maintenance program, and prompt correction of deficiencies Ensure a safe, secure environment for guests and staff by chairing the Safety & Security Committee, enforcing compliance, and investigating incidents Deliver exceptional guest experiences by personally engaging with arriving and departing guests, resolving issues professionally, and tracking satisfaction metrics Represent the hotel in the community through active participation in civic, charitable, and professional organizations
Qualifications:
College degree (or equivalent) with emphasis in business management, plus supervisory experience across multiple hotel departments Demonstrated leadership ability, including team building, staff motivation, and performance management Strong financial acumen•comfortable with budgets, P&L statements, forecasting, and expense management Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to ownership and conduct sales calls Working knowledge of OSHA, ADA, fair employment laws, and hotel safety regulations Proficiency with standard business technology (MS Office, Opera Cloud, general computer networks) Valid driver's license with a clean record About Company We are a franchised Sonesta hotel, part of one of the fastest-growing hotel brands in the United States.
