Job Description

Job Overview Vista Investments (VIMCO) is seeking an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead the Best Western Plus Inn of Ventura, a 75‑room branded select‑service hotel located in the heart of Ventura, CA, steps from downtown, the beach, and the pier. This is a hands‑on leadership role with full hotel operations and P&L responsibility, including guest satisfaction, financial performance, revenue management, and team leadership. The General Manager will oversee all departments while partnering with centralized Sales, Revenue Management, Finance, and HR teams. This role offers strong visibility with ownership and a clear path for growth within a growing California hospitality portfolio. About the Property The Best Western Plus Inn of Ventura is a select‑service, branded hotel serving both business and leisure travelers. Amenities include complimentary breakfast, free parking, and a relaxed Southern California coastal environment. The property is focused on operational efficiency, consistent guest service, and brand compliance. Key Responsibilities Hotel Operations & Guest Experience Oversee daily hotel operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance Lead daily business reviews and morning stand‑ups Own guest satisfaction performance, including Best Western GSS, Medallia, TripAdvisor, and Google Reviews Resolve guest issues promptly while maintaining high guest service standards Ensure consistent execution of brand standards and service expectations Financial Management & Performance Full P&L ownership, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis Drive RevPAR, ADR, Occupancy, RevPAR Index, GOP, and labor productivity Execute disciplined cost control while supporting revenue growth Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to ownership and corporate partners Sales & Revenue Management Partner with centralized Revenue Management to execute pricing and distribution strategies Manage channel mix across brand.com, OTAs, GDS, and direct bookings Support local sales initiatives, including corporate/LNR and appropriate group business Collaborate with ownership to improve market share and competitive positioning Team Leadership & Development Recruit, train, develop, and retain a high‑performing hotel team Directly lead department heads and create a culture of accountability and engagement Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and labor productivity Drive employee engagement and turnover improvement initiatives Brand Standards & Compliance Ensure compliance with Best Western brand standards and successful QA inspections Maintain adherence to OSHA, ADA, health, and safety regulations Oversee audits, internal controls, and emergency preparedness Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a Hotel General Manager, or strong Assistant General Manager experience at a large upper‑midscale or full‑service hotel Experience in a branded or select‑service hotel strongly preferred (Best Western, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Wyndham, Choice, or similar) Proven leadership experience across hotel operations and team development Strong understanding of Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance operations Solid financial acumen with direct P&L ownership Experience with PMS systems (OPERA, WebRezPro, Lightspeed, or similar) and STR / brand reporting Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered Valid driver's license and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and on‑call as needed
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
$105,000 - $125,000 annually (DOE)
Performance Bonus:
