Dog Park and Pet Resort Manager

Poochie's Park is looking for a Manager! Do you want to work with dogs and the people who love them? At Poochie's, Managers spend their days on "the front lines," building relationships with every dog, customer, and staff member. Their skill set must include excellent people skills, the natural gift of connecting with dogs, strong leadership attributes, problem solving ability, and an understanding of best business practices. Pay and Benefits:

Salary• plus tips and bonuses. (•Salary based on experience) Full-time, 40-hours minimum required. $200 per month for ANY health-related expense. 80 hours per year of Paid Time Off End of the year/Christmas bonus. Holiday work bonus pay.

Weekly Tips Retirement Plan:

Simple IRA with 3% matching contributions (after 2 years of service).

Duties and Responsibilities:

(other duties may be assigned or not listed) Oversee daily operations in the dog park, kennel, front desk, and pet spa. Maintain conduct standards, cleanliness, and safety. Provide excellent customer service to the humans and their dogs. Supervise employees and train new employees. Must be available to work holidays and weekends. (you'll split both with the other manager)

Qualifications/Pre-Requisites:

Past Work Experience:

• At least 4 years of total work experience with at least 2 years of managing or assistant managing experience (or the equivalent).

Education:

• High school diploma or GED; An associate or bachelor's degree from a college is preferred but not required.

Dog Experience:

Professional experience working with dogs is highly preffered although not required. You must love dogs, own dogs (or have owned), and have the natural ability to communicate easily with dogs.

Customer Service Experience:

Work history that includes customer service or front desk type jobs is a plus!

Language Ability:

• Ability to read and interpret documents in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and clearly.

Math Ability:

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages

Computer Skills:

• Basic understanding of multiple software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel; Skilled navigation and understanding of internet applications.

Problem Solving Ability:

A manager has to be good at "putting out fires" or preventing them.

Reliable Transportation:

• Must have your own vehicle for transportation and be able to make it to work within a 30-minute commute.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This is a highly physical job! • You may occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, you are regularly required to talk or listen. You will be required at times to stand, walk (a lot!) or run/sprint. You will also be required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The work environment can be loud, wet, hot, cold, windy, humid, dirty, full of dog hair/dust, and cleaning chemicals are used.
