Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Assistant General Manager at our comfortable and welcoming hotel located in Independence, Iowa. This energetic leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee daily hotel operations, enhance guest experiences, and drive overall business success. As the right hand to the General Manager, you will lead a dedicated team, ensure exceptional customer service, and uphold the highest standards of hospitality. Your passion for hotel management and guest relations will be instrumental in creating memorable stays for our guests while fostering a positive, productive work environment. Duties Assist in managing daily hotel operations, including front desk activities, housekeeping, maintenance, and food services Supervise and motivate staff to deliver outstanding guest service and uphold hotel standards Oversee revenue management strategies to maximize occupancy rates and profitability Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and enthusiasm Coordinate with human resources to recruit, train, and evaluate team members Manage budgeting processes, control expenses, and ensure compliance with financial goals Oversee night audit procedures and ensure accurate financial reporting Implement effective front desk procedures including multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette to enhance guest interactions Foster a welcoming environment by promoting excellent guest relations and hospitality practices Support resort operations by ensuring smooth coordination across departments and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety Qualifications Proven supervising experience in hospitality or hotel management roles Strong background in hospitality management, including revenue management, guest services, and hotel operations Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse clientele effectively Knowledge of human resources practices related to staffing, training, and employee development Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control measures Familiarity with front desk operations, multi-line phone systems, night audit procedures, and phone etiquette Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences Previous hotel or resort experience is preferred; strong hospitality background is essential Join us in delivering exceptional hospitality experiences while advancing your career in a vibrant environment. Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
