Job Description

General Manager - Holiday Inn Express & Suites O'Fallon/ShilohJob Summary Holiday Inn Express & Suites O'Fallon/Shiloh is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead the overall operations of our hotel. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong hospitality experience, a passion for guest service, and the ability to drive revenue, team performance, and operational excellence. The General Manager will oversee all hotel departments, ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, maximize profitability, and create a positive environment for both guests and team members. Responsibilities Oversee daily hotel operations including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Breakfast, Sales, and Guest Services. Drive revenue growth through effective rate management, forecasting, sales strategies, and market awareness. Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and maintain strong online review scores across all platforms. Recruit, train, coach, and develop hotel staff while fostering a positive team culture. Manage payroll, labor costs, scheduling, budgeting, and overall financial performance. Monitor hotel expenses and implement cost-control measures while maintaining service quality. Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, QA requirements, safety regulations, and company policies. Review STR reports, occupancy trends, ADR, RevPAR, and competitor performance regularly. Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve operational issues promptly. Work closely with ownership and corporate leadership to achieve hotel goals and performance targets. Oversee preventative maintenance programs and ensure the property is maintained to brand standards. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of hotel management experience, preferably as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager. IHG brand experience preferred. Strong knowledge of hotel operations, revenue management, budgeting, and guest service standards. Experience with hotel PMS systems, forecasting, scheduling, and labor management. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed. Sales and revenue management experience is highly preferred.
