Front Desk Manager - Harbor House Bed & Breakfast Grand Haven, MI Overview Harbor House Bed & Breakfast is seeking a highly reliable, polished, and results‑driven Front Desk Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure our boutique property runs at an exceptional standard. This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, completes tasks without being prompted, and thrives in a refined, guest‑focused environment. As the face of our bed and breakfast, you will lead front desk operations, coordinate with all departments, and ensure every guest—especially our high‑end clientele—receives a seamless, elevated experience from arrival to departure. Professionalism, discretion, and a calm, confident demeanor are essential. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Oversee all front desk operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and professional daily workflow Maintain a constant presence at the front desk during scheduled shifts, ensuring phones are answered promptly and guests are never left unattended Ensure all tasks are completed thoroughly and on time without repeated reminders Guest Experience Excellence Deliver warm, polished, and attentive service to all guests, with special attention to high‑end clientele Manage check‑ins, check‑outs, reservations, and guest inquiries with accuracy and hospitality Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring issues are handled to the highest standard Staff Management Create and manage staff schedules to ensure full coverage and operational efficiency Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance oversight for front desk staff Uphold a culture of professionalism, accountability, and exceptional service Property Coordination Communicate maintenance issues immediately and follow up to ensure timely resolution Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are guest‑ready, clean, and fully stocked Monitor property conditions, guest areas, and hallways to maintain a pristine environment Administrative Duties Complete daily reports, financial reconciliations, and night audit procedures Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation Ensure compliance with all property policies, safety standards, and guest service protocols Qualifications Proven experience in hotel, bed & breakfast, or hospitality management Strong understanding of guest services, front desk operations, and hospitality best practices Exceptional reliability, professionalism, and follow‑through Outstanding communication skills with impeccable phone etiquette Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain composed in a fast‑paced environment Experience working with reservation systems and multi‑line phone systems Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus Hospitality certifications or formal training preferred Ideal Candidate Traits Gets things done without being asked twice Maintains a polished, professional demeanor at all times Thrives in a boutique, high‑end hospitality environment Proactive, organized, and detail‑oriented Committed to elevating guest experience and property standards

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
