As a part-time Guest Services Officer (Night Shift) in our Security Command Center, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the museum's grounds, buildings, and collections during overnight hours—ensuring that our spaces remain safe, secure, and operational around the clock. What You'll Do As a Guest Services Officer in the Security Command Center, you'll monitor activity throughout the museum grounds and facilities, respond to alarms and emergencies, and assist with facility safety and operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Surveillance & Monitoring:
Operate security systems in the Command Center and monitor building activity via security cameras and HVAC systems.
Patrols & Safety Checks:
Conduct full museum walkthroughs (including stairs and ladders), check equipment and alarms, and respond to alerts.
Visitor & Staff Assistance:
Escort staff to their vehicles after hours upon request.
Phone & Radio Communication:
Answer and transfer phone calls and maintain communication with emergency personnel and museum staff.
Incident Response:
Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies, initiate evacuations if necessary, and complete incident documentation. What We're Looking For We're seeking dependable, observant, and calm professionals who take pride in maintaining a safe environment.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a city security license. Prior experience in night security or central monitoring preferred. CPR and first aid training a plus.
Core Competencies:
Ability to remain alert and focused during overnight shifts. Strong communication and judgment skills. Ability to interact respectfully with the public and museum staff. Must be able to climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 30 lbs, and navigate large buildings. Basic computer and typing proficiency. Maintains confidentiality regarding museum operations and security protocols.

AM Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate:
