47th St, New York, NY 10036 | District 6 New York, NY Job Details Full-time $58,000 - $62,400 a year 21 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Spanish Night audit Guard Card Property management systems (PMS) Front desk OPERA Full Job Description Front Desk & Guest Experience Manage all check-in, check-out, and reservation operations with professionalism and efficiency Serve as the primary point of contact for guest inquiries, complaints, and service recovery Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and management to ensure seamless guest satisfaction Oversee lobby presence, vendor sign-in protocols, and visitor management Monitor property management system (PMS) and maintain accurate occupancy records Conduct night audit procedures and ensure accurate end-of-shift reporting Fire & Life Safety Director (FLSD) Duties Staff and monitor the fire command station (FCS) in the lobby in full compliance with FDNY regulations Conduct and document regular fire drills, emergency evacuation procedures, and safety inspections Maintain Class E system logs, fire extinguisher records, and elevator fire service documentation Coordinate with FDNY and building management on all fire code compliance matters Train and brief designated fire wardens and floor staff on emergency response protocols Respond to all fire alarms, emergency calls, and life safety incidents as the on-duty FLSD authority Review and adhere to all NYC Fire Department ordinances and Local Laws applicable to the property Responsibilities Manage daily front desk operations, including greeting visitors, handling inquiries, and directing guests efficiently. Control access to the building for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors through security protocols. Oversee fire life safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and alarm systems sales initiatives. Conduct regular inspections of fire sprinkler fittings, fire alarm systems, and other safety equipment to ensure proper functioning. Coordinate with construction teams during inspections or renovations to ensure compliance with fire safety standards. Respond promptly to emergency situations by activating alarm systems and communicating effectively with emergency responders. Maintain detailed records of security activities, fire system inspections, incident reports, and safety compliance documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
Licenses & Certifications (Required) FDNY F-89 or T-89 Certificate of Fitness (must be current and valid) Z-89 (COC) preferred but not mandatory NYS Security Guard License (preferred) Valid government-issued ID Experience 2+ years of hotel front desk, reception, or guest services experience 1+ year of FLSD or fire safety compliance experience in a NYC property Experience in NYC midtown or boutique hotel hospitality strongly preferred Proficiency with hotel PMS software (Opera, Cloudbeds, or equivalent) Skills & Attributes Polished, professional guest-facing communication and presence Strong emergency response decision-making under pressure Meticulous attention to compliance documentation and log-keeping Ability to multitask across hospitality and safety duties simultaneously Bilingual ability a plus — Spanish or Mandarin preferred Availability Open to rotating shifts including nights, evenings, and overnight Weekend and public holiday availability required On-call availability for after-hours emergencies
