Job description: Hospitality Manager (Winery Tasting Room) Peconic Bay Vineyards is seeking a seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Tasting Room Manager to lead the daily hospitality operations and overall performance of our tasting room. This role is critical in ensuring seamless execution of all front-of-house activities, allowing executive leadership to focus on broader strategic initiatives. Position Overview The Tasting Room Manager reports directly to executive leadership and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of tasting room operations. This includes retail sales, guest experience, staff management, events, inventory, and compliance. Success in this role requires strong leadership, accountability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Operations & Performance Oversee day-to-day tasting room operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness and an exceptional guest experience. Execute, delegate, and follow through on tasks and directives from executive leadership in a timely manner. Develop, refine and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company policies. Monitor performance metrics and collaborate with leadership to set and achieve sales goals and maximize profitability. Maintain a clean, organized and visually appealing tasting room and retail environment. Team Leadership & Development Hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate tasting room team, including associates, servers, bussers and runners. Foster a positive, professional, and enthusiastic team culture centered around hospitality and brand passion. Assign workloads, manage projects, and oversee payroll processing. Lead ongoing wine education and staff training initiatives. Participate in weekly management meetings to review performance, projects and upcoming events. Wine & Guest Experience Drive wine education efforts, including team training, tasting panels, and product knowledge development. Provide updated wine information, spec sheets and release details to the team. Deliver exceptional guest service and professionally resolve all guest concerns. Sales, Inventory & Wine Club Oversee retail sales, merchandising, and inventory management for wine and retail products. Manage all aspects of the wine club, including shipments, communications, promotions, events and membership growth. Maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate restocking as needed. Events & Community Engagement Plan, coordinate, and execute winery events and guest experiences Represent the winery at industry and community functions. Collaborate with internal departments (wholesale, production, marketing, facilities) to ensure alignment and success of events and initiatives. Qualifications Proven experience in hospitality, retail, or winery management (tasting room experience preferred). Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Passion for wine and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. Knowledge of inventory systems, POS platforms and basic financial reporting preferred. Expectations Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Demonstrate accountability, initiative and attention to detail. Lead by example in delivering outstanding hospitality. Uphold and embody the values and standards of the winery.
Annual Salary:
