Job Description
Job Summary Guest Experience Manager 1850 Hotel — Blowing Rock, NC Up to $50,000 per year ($42,000 base + performance bonuses) Full-Time | Hybrid About the Role The Guest Experience Manager is a leadership-level position within our boutique hospitality portfolio. The GEM is responsible for the guest experience end-to-end — setting the tone for how a stay feels and making meaningful decisions about how that experience is delivered. This role demands someone who thrives with autonomy. The GEM is trusted to lead the property experience without constant direction. That autonomy comes with real accountability — the quality of every stay reflects the standard this person holds themselves to. What Drives This Role Today's guests aren't just looking for a place to sleep — they're looking for something that stays with them long after checkout. At its best, hospitality isn't a transaction. It's connection. When pursued with real intention, it has the power to give people an experience they carry with them long after they leave. That means caring about the details, anticipating what guests need, and bringing the kind of attentiveness and follow-through that makes a stay feel effortless. The person who thrives here finds genuine joy in making others feel seen and taken care of. That's the energy we're looking for — and it's the part of this role we'd want a candidate to be most excited about. How You'll Work This is not a desk job or a 9-to-5. A good portion of the work can be done remotely, and the flexibility in how you structure your time is real — in a way that most roles in this industry simply don't allow. Weekends and holidays come with the territory. When on call, we need someone local and reachable in Watauga County. The infrastructure is already in place — including professional cleaning and maintenance services — so the GEM can focus entirely on property leadership, guest relations, and the details that define the 1850 experience.
