The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for the overall performance of the property, ensuring operational excellence, exceptional guest experiences, strong financial results, and compliance with brand standards. Department leaders from Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Sales will report directly to the GM. The GM will report to the Director of Operations and collaborate closely with senior leadership to establish and achieve monthly and quarterly revenue goals. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operations Direct and oversee all daily hotel operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and guest satisfaction. Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and staff to build a high-performing team culture. Recruit, hire, train, and retain qualified employees while fostering professional growth and accountability. Ensure compliance with all brand standards, company policies, and operational procedures. Monitor operational performance and implement improvements to maximize service quality and efficiency. Guest Experience Deliver exceptional guest service and ensure every guest enjoys a comfortable and memorable stay. Address guest concerns promptly and professionally to maintain high guest satisfaction ratings. Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members to continuously improve service delivery. Financial Management Partner with senior leadership to establish and achieve revenue, occupancy, and profitability goals. Make business decisions with a focus on cost control, revenue growth, and overall financial performance. Prepare and submit accurate operational reports and performance metrics to management and ownership in a timely manner. Support sales initiatives and develop opportunities for direct-bill accounts, corporate business, and revenue-generating partnerships when needed. Compliance & Administration Comply with and enforce all brand standards and requirements. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Promote and enforce workplace safety standards and best practices. Maintain accurate records and oversee administrative functions related to hotel operations. Availability & Support Maintain a visible leadership presence during business hours and provide support as operational needs arise. Be available for after-hours emergencies, management meetings, or critical hotel situations when necessary. Assist other properties within the organization during special projects or operational needs as assigned. Qualifications & SkillsRequired Skills Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests, employees, management, and the public. Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Strong understanding of hotel financial performance, revenue management, and profit-and-loss principles. Excellent guest relations and conflict-resolution skills. Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Proficient in computer applications and hotel management systems. Commitment to maintaining and enforcing brand standards, safety requirements, and operational excellence. Work Environment Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The General Manager must be flexible and available to accommodate varying business demands, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as required. Education & ExperienceRequired Minimum of five (5) years of hotel management experience. Preferred Experience with Marriott-branded properties. Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in multiple hotel departments, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Sales, or Revenue Management.
