Job Description
The Bavarian Lodge is located overlooking the village center in beautiful Leavenworth, Washington. We are a premier hotel offering exceptional guest service and exquisite accommodations. Our property offers 90 beautifully appointed guest rooms and is the ultimate in luxury, comfort, and amenities which continue to make us one of the top hotels in Leavenworth. We are looking for a Front Desk Supervisor that LOVES to talk to people, has a friendly nature, and will deliver the high standards of service that the Bavarian Lodge is known for. We seek for individuals that are reliable, dependable, and are able to think on their feet and multi-task in a quick-paced environment. The Front Desk Supervisor will be in charge of smooth and efficient running of front desk operations and all related guest services. They are responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction and supervising front desk employees. The Front Desk Supervisor must be resourceful, take ownership of guest problems and issues that arise, and have excellent problem-solving skills. In addition to managing the daily operations of the front desk, the Front Desk Supervisor will provide ongoing training for all front desk employees. The Front Desk Supervisor will assist Front Desk Manager as a second point of contact in liaising with guests to resolve complaints ensuring excellent guest satisfaction. The Front Desk Supervisor will act as a "manager on duty" when the Front Desk Manager is not available. Duties & Functions
- Enhance the guests experience by providing exemplary guest service at all times.
- Cash Drawer Reconciliation
- responsible for reconciling daily drops, calling in change orders and communicating with FDM & Bookkeeper on petty cash issues as well as sending reports to accounting.
- Handle all guest complaints and comments tactfully and effectively, ensuring prompt resolution as well as internal follow-up.
- Ordering/Inventory of Supplies
- Assist with inventory and ordering to ensure the front desk is up to date on office supplies.
- Demonstrate appropriate service recovery gestures in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.
- Assist Front Desk Manager in managing front desk employees and day-to-day operations.
- Monitor front desk employee performance and recommend positive reinforcement, as well as, corrective and/or disciplinary action.
- Assist Front Desk Manager with hiring/scheduling of front desk employees.
- Community Involvement
- stay up to date on events in the community to ensure the hotel is prepared for busy times, road closures, bad weather, etc.
- Guest Issues
- Assist the Front Desk Manager with responding in person to all guest requests, problems, complaints and/or accidents
- Assist in the writing of and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform additional duties or projects as requested by Management
- Medium work
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Standing or on feet for 8+ hour shifts.
- Weekends, holidays, early mornings (7am), 8+ hour shifts, and/or late nights (11pm) will be required. Education & Experience
- At least 3 years' progressive experience in a hotel or related field; or a 4-year degree and at least 1 years related experience; or a 2-year degree and at least 2 years or more of related experience
- Previous hotel experience required
- Previous Independent Boutique Hotel experience preferred
