Full-time About Hotel Lucile:
Hotel Lucile is a landmark boutique property in the heart of Silver Lake, Los Angeles. Originally a church constructed in 1931, the building has seen several iterations of its purpose, with a rich history to inform its present day persona. The property includes 25 guest rooms, a restaurant and bar within the former sanctuary, choir loft and roof top communal spaces, pool, and gym. A rotating program of artists and exhibitions, thoughtful minibar selection, and community programming will all bring dimension to the experience for both hotel guests and locals alike. While elements of the building have evolved, as it has been doing for nearly a century, many original elements have been preserved to maintain its distinct character against the contemporary design, such as the original stained glass, soaring ceiling beams, window frames, and wood flooring. Hotel Lucile is looking forward to opening its doors to the neighborhood once again — as a second home for those coming from afar to explore the city, and locals looking for a space to gather.

Position Overview:
The Housekeeping Supervisor responsibilities include organizing employee shifts, training and motivating team members and checking rooms and public areas for tidiness. Ultimately, the housekeeping supervisor will help ensure our daily housekeeping operations run smoothly and that the hotel guests are satisfied.
Essential Functions:
Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks Oversee staff on a daily basis Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job Respond to customer complaints and special requests Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach and rubber gloves Participate in large cleaning projects as required Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas Establish work standards and procedures for housekeeping staff and ensure they adhere to it Screens/interview housekeeping job applicants, hire new employees, and recommend promotion and/or transfer of employees if and when the need arises Take stock of available inventory so as to ensure a steady supply of work materials Assign duties to workers and inspect already completed tasks so as to ensure compliance with already stated housekeeping standards Make recommendations to help improve housekeeping services within the organization Personally, carry out housekeeping duties in the case of any form of emergency/urgency, and/or shortage of staff Examine the building/area so as to determine areas that need repairs and/or maintenance Record and keep data regarding work assignments, and also prepare reports on a routine basis Responsible for issuing work equipment and supplies to the housekeeping staff/workers.
Requirements:
Work experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products Excellent organizational and team management skills Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends High school diploma is a plusProlonged periods standing. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
