Job Description
The hotel housekeeping supervisor oversees the daily operations of the cleaning staff to ensure all guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas meet strict cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards. They are responsible for scheduling, training, conducting room inspections, and managing supply inventories.
Compensation:
$27 - $28 hourly
Responsibilities:
Shift Management:
Conduct morning briefings, assign specific rooms to housekeepers, distribute master keys, and assign closing or evening tasks.
Quality Control:
Perform room inspections to ensure standards are met, noting and reporting maintenance issues to the front desk or maintenance team immediately.
Staff Leadership:
Train new hires, provide ongoing coaching, evaluate employee performance, and motivate the team to work efficiently.
Inventory Control:
Monitor, order, and restock cleaning supplies, linens, and room amenities to ensure the team has the necessary tools.
Guest Services:
Promptly handle guest inquiries, accommodate special requests (e.g., extra pillows, rollaway beds), and resolve any housekeeping complaints.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Typically requires 1-3 years of housekeeping experience, with a proven background in a lead or supervisory role.
Organization:
Strong time-management and delegation skills to adapt to varying occupancy rates and staff absences.
Communication:
Clear verbal and written communication to coordinate with front desk systems, handle staff feedback, and update room statuses.
Physical Capability:
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, as well as assist with lifting or moving heavy items if required.
