PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Business Unit Manager is responsible for the overall planning, organization, and leadership of housekeeping operations, ensuring strict compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This leadership role is essential in upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction throughout the hotel.
Key responsibilities include:
Oversight of daily cleaning operations for guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. Managing guest service requests and ensuring timely resolution. Coordinating with the maintenance team to address facility needs. Conducting inspections of vacant clean rooms to ensure readiness. Supporting small facility service needs as required. Managing laundry service logistics and quality. The Business Unit Manager also serves as the primary liaison for all housekeeping-related vendor services, including but not limited to: Waste removal Pest control Linen providers Contract labor partners In addition, this role is responsible for the full employee lifecycle of the hourly housekeeping team, including staffing, scheduling, onboarding, training, and professional development. The Manager is expected to foster a culture of operational excellence, engagement, and continuous improvement within the team.
