RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Manager, supervises the daily operations and activities of the environmental services (EVS) department during off hour shifts as assigned. Ensures services, functions, and activities are performed efficiently and effectively and in accordance with regulatory requirements and the policies and procedures of The Queen??s Medical Center (QMC).
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Essential:
finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
Continuous:
sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
Frequent:
walking.
Occasional:
standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying up to maximum weight of 50 pounds; pushing/pulling maximum 50 pounds of force, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object. Operates computer, calculator, telephone, fax and printer and different types of vacuums, mops/mop handles/wringer, brushes, dust pans, step stool, burnishing machine, carpet extractor, scrubbing machines, ladder.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Exposure to blood products, body fluids, secretions, patient diseases, chemicals and materials typical in hospital environment.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred. Current certification in
BLS/HCP. B. EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years experience in environmental services. Prior experience in a lead role, such as a Team Lead, Supervisor, Senior, etc., demonstrating ability to lead staff.
Experience to demonstrate the following:
