Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department in a long-term care facility. This role ensures a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors, in compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) regulations and federal guidelines. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations Assign duties and inspect work of housekeeping staff Ensure compliance with infection control standards, OSHA, and CDC guidelines Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms, common areas, and administrative spaces Train, schedule, and evaluate housekeeping personnel Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; order as needed Respond promptly to resident, family, and staff concerns or requests Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and waste Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) programs Maintain documentation and records required by state and federal regulations Regulatory Compliance (Illinois LTC Specific) Follow IDPH sanitation and infection control standards Ensure compliance with CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) housekeeping and environmental services requirements Support facility readiness for inspections and surveys Enforce safety standards consistent with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Qualifications 2+ years of housekeeping experience in healthcare or long-term care Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred Knowledge of infection control practices in healthcare settings Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift (up to 50 lbs) Ability to work in various environmental conditions Frequent use of cleaning chemicals and equipment Work Environment Long-term care or skilled nursing facility Exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential biohazards Interaction with elderly and medically fragile residents Preferred Skills Experience with floor care (buffing, waxing, carpet cleaning) Familiarity with electronic scheduling or maintenance systems Strong attention to detail and infection prevention Housekeeping Supervisor Axiom Gardens of Nashville 485 S Friendship Dr, Nashville, IL 62263 $17
