Full-time Job Overview:
The Housekeeping Inspector at Encore Hospitality is responsible for inspecting guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance meet established hotel standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining quality control within the housekeeping department and ensuring guest rooms are clean, safe, and ready for occupancy. The Housekeeping Inspector works closely with room attendants, housepersons, and management to uphold brand standards and enhance guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Room Inspections & Quality Control:
Inspect guest rooms after cleaning to ensure they meet cleanliness, safety, and brand standards. Verify room readiness, including beds, bathrooms, amenities, furniture placement, and overall presentation. Identify deficiencies and communicate corrective actions clearly to room attendants. Ensure rooms are released accurately and timely for guest occupancy.
Public Area & Back-of-House Inspections:
Inspect public areas and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and organization standards are maintained. Coordinate with housekeeping and houseperson staff to address any deficiencies. Ensure cleaning schedules and standards are consistently followed.
Operational Support & Coordination:
Communicate room status updates with the housekeeping office and front desk. Assist with room assignments and prioritization based on occupancy needs. Support housekeeping operations during peak periods or staffing shortages as needed.
Maintenance & Safety Awareness:
Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged furnishings. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and infection control standards. Verify proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Training & Team Support:
Provide feedback and coaching to room attendants to improve performance and quality. Assist with training new housekeeping staff on cleaning and inspection standards. Promote teamwork, professionalism, and attention to detail within the department.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Previous housekeeping or hotel operations experience required. Prior inspection or supervisory experience preferred.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and safety regulations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and climb stairs as needed. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Work Environment:
