POSITION OVERVIEW
The Housekeeping Supervisor provides support and quality control to all housekeeping associates. They are responsible to ensure all housekeeping standards are maintained by inspecting guest rooms, evaluating the physical condition of hotel spaces, and assisting to keep public areas clean. They provide associate trainings and work alongside the team to provide memorable stays for the hotel guests.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Train housekeeping associates in professional knowledge and skills according to the departmental standards. Inspect guest rooms to ensure housekeeping standards are achieved. Ensure VIP rooms are provided with appropriate amenities and services. Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of housepersons, room attendants, and public area attendants. Resolve any problems in their assigned area. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards. Maintain positive guest and resident relations at all times. Collaborate with all departments and communicate through GXP. Resolve guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas. Provide support to clean and replenish guest bedroom and bathroom areas according to hotel standards, as needed. Complete accurately, and in a timely manner, any assigned work. Maintain cleanliness levels in public areas of the hotel including guest hallways and housekeeping closets. Report any defects to the corresponding areas responsible. Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements. Maintain complete knowledge of equipment and use only as intended. Maintain a professional and personable appearance at all times, according to hotel standards. Successfully achieve the hotel's core values of ownership, innovation, craft, respect, and community. All other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous housekeeping experience or equivalent training required. Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language. Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail and speed and accuracy with the ability to remain calm and resolve problems using good judgement. Ability to work effectively with co-workers as part of a team and with minimal supervision. Flexibility to work a varied schedule, which may include weekends and holidays. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on own and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Ability to stand and walk for entire shift. Requires writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
