Additional Information About the Role Additional Preferred Requirements Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Barnes-Jewish Extended Care is part of the Barnes-Jewish continuum of top ranked, compassionate care. It is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility, located at 401 Corporate Park Drive in Clayton, Missouri. Organized as a hospital-based facility, Barnes-Jewish Extended Care is under the direction of Barnes-Jewish Hospital medical staff with full support of laboratory and rehabilitation departments. Services range from minimal assistance to subacute post-hospital recovery. Our patients range from the young to the elderly, as well as post-trauma rehabilitation patients and those in need of hospice or respite care. The Housekeeping Department at BJEC is responsible for delivering a clean and safe environment of care for our patients and residents. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Supervision of operations and activities of the Housekeeping Department. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Schedules work assignments and ensures the schedule is adjusted and posted. Responds to and prioritizes pager requests. Conducts new hire department orientation, training and in-services as needed. Performs regular inspections to ensure staff are following established procedures in order to meet compliance and regulatory guidelines and to provide infection control.
