Full Job Description Job Summary:
Managing housekeeping staff under the direction of the Director of Operations or Administrator. Maintaining an environment that is clean, safe, pleasant, and functional for residents and employees. Ensure all housekeeping tasks are completed on daily basis. Must have experience in managing staff. Ability to fill in schedule when needed. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates Competency in the
Following Areas:
Dust furniture, light fixtures, lamps, window ledges, air exchange units, etc Polish furniture once per week using furniture polish Empty and change liners in all waste cans daily or when needed Clean lavatories and fixtures Spot clean all walls Check vacant rooms daily to keep fresh and neat Pick up bottles, papers, etc, from floor and rooms and put in proper place Report any needed repairs via maintenance work order to the environmental service department (ie, light bulbs, broken windows, or furniture, unsafe areas or broken equipment). Complete housekeeping orientation and general checklist Clean refrigerator as scheduled Clean residents' room daily. Clean equipment and work areas daily Pick up cleaning supplies for next days' work at end of the shift Attend staff development classes Supervise a team of housekeeping staff to ensure cleanliness and orderliness throughout the facility. Conduct regular inspections of resident's rooms, dining rooms, break rooms, bathrooms, to main high standards of cleanliness. Train new housekeeping staff members on proper cleaning procedures. Assist with emergency cleaning during the day as required. Observe policies of other departments regarding infection control and fire. See that residents rooms are prepared for new admissions- rooms is dust free, bed is made and pillow is present on bed, bathroom clean.
Job Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent. Ability to work with residents/family and physicians in a friendly and knowledgeable manner. Experienced with floor care, such as stripping and waxing floors preferred but not required. Previous Management experience preferred.
Language Skills:
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
