Assistant Executive Housekeeping Manager 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Position Summary The Assistant Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Supervisor supports the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department. This position helps ensure guest rooms, public areas, laundry areas, and back-of-house spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and IHG brand compliance. The role includes room inspections, staffing, training, quality inspections, inventory control, maintaining supplies/equipment, and ensuring guest satisfaction through consistent service and quality. Essential Functions Assist in supervising daily housekeeping operations to ensure quality, productivity, and brand standards are consistently met. Inspect guest rooms, and public areas spaces daily to ensure sanitation and presentation standards are maintained. Support guest satisfaction through professional service, responsiveness, and service recovery when needed. Assist with labor management by helping create schedules and assignments within labor and budget guidelines. Help maintain minutes-per-room expectations and monitor productivity while ensuring quality outcomes. Communicate effectively with the Front Desk regarding room readiness, priority rooms, and maintenance/out-of-order rooms. Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure work orders are submitted, tracked, and completed in a timely manner. Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge:
Guest room inspection standards, cleaning expectations, and productivity standards (minutes-per-room). Proper use of housekeeping chemicals, materials, supplies, and equipment. Hotel layout, room types, services, hours of operation, and overall property operations.Skills:
Strong organization and time-management skills (logs, checklists, inventories). Basic computer skills to pull reports, break out house, and monitor room inventory/status. Ability to assist with interviewing, training, coaching, motivation, counseling, discipline, and separation processes (final decisions made by the General Manager). Ability to follow and enforce company policies and procedures consistently.Abilities:
Ability to multitask and remain calm and service-focused in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate professionally with guests and team members through verbal and written communication (logbooks, messaging, radio, etc.). Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all associates and department leaders. Specific Responsibilities Assist with coordinating daily housekeeping operations and supporting staff communication (shift huddles/meetings as scheduled). Inspect guest rooms, corridors, public space, laundry areas, back-of-house areas, and exterior grounds as assigned. Ensure brand standards, cleanliness goals, and internal quality expectations are met and maintained. Assist with ordering, receiving, storage, and organization of housekeeping supplies. Support inventories as assigned; assist with proper documentation of counts and department needs. Ensure department equipment is in proper working order (vacuums, laundry equipment, carts, etc.) and report issues promptly. Maintain key control and security procedures—keys must be secured and accounted for at all times. Assist with onboarding and ongoing training for staff using brand tools, SOPs, and vendor resources. Perform additional tasks as assigned, based on operational needs and ability. Working Conditions / Schedule Requirements This position requires standing and walking for long periods while maintaining a friendly, professional image. The associate may be required to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business demands. Physical Requirements Must be able to perform major life activities including standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.For this position specifically:
Must be able to push/pull up to 60 pounds. Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 pounds. Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours and bend, stretch, reach, crawl, and kneel as needed. Must be able to see, hear, speak, and read English (additional language skills are a plus). Must demonstrate professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness at all times.
