Position Description Advertised Job Summary The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness, appearance, and readiness of the University President's House as both a private residence and a high-profile venue for official functions. This role establishes and maintains exceptional housekeeping standards and household cleaning operations and provides support for events and guest hospitality. The Executive Housekeeper ensures meticulous care of fine finishes, antiques, art, silver, crystal, and specialty textiles, and upholds confidentiality, discretion, security, and protocol at all times. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Typically holds a high school diploma or GED. Requires 3 or more years of job related experience. Required Certification, LicensureOther Credentials Preferred Qualifications High school diploma and a minimum of 4 years cleaning experience. Must have direct experience in executive level housekeeping functions. KnowledgeSkillsAbilities Knowledge of efficient cleaning prores and executive housekeeping tasks and special event support. Ability to plan and manage supplies, equipment and temporary help needs. Ability tomunicate effectively both orally and in writing. Job Duties Job Duty Maintains aprehensive cleaning plan (dailyweeklymonthlyseasonal checklists) across all spaces—public rooms, private quarters, guest rooms, service areas, porches, and outdoor living spaces. Implements museum-quality care for historical surfaces, fine finishes, and specialty materials (wood, marble, stone, lacquer, wallpaper, woven rugs, tapestries). Performs deep-cleaning rotations; Ensure all rooms are guest-ready with consistent, high-quality presentation. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 40 Job Duty Prepares and supports all events and activities at the University Residence, including official functions, donor events, receptions, VIP stays, and special events coordinated with University Events and University Food Services. Oversees full event setup, staging, table settings, linens, restroom standards, silver polishing and back‑of‑house preparation; provides operational, service, and cleanup support, including post‑event reset and rapid turnaround. Consults with the University's First Family on planning, scling, and event management and collaborates with Catering, Facilities, and external vendors—arriving early as needed to provide access and prepare early-morning or breakfast events. When the House Manager is absent, supervises residence operations and event execution Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Responsible for operating cleaning equipment, washing dishes, and emptying trashrecycling containers, cleaning exterior porches, patio and furniture. Cleans stairs and elevators. Responsible for laundering, spot cleaning clothes, table clothes, napkins. Responsible for ironing table clothes and napkins. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job Duty Responsible for ensuring annual equipment inventories of the University residence arepleted by Property Control. Polish silverware. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Acts as the primary contact with University Facilities Department for all house related needs. Provides direction to contractors working at the residence pertaining to scles, plans and site visits. Coordinate work to be performed by other entities of facilities, to ensure work does not disturb the the first family. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Responsible for answering the telephone, taking messages, receiving callers and giving directions at the University residence. Organizes the cleaning of private residential area(s) at the request of the First Lady, President, and the house manager.
