Position Overview:
As Housekeeping Supervisor , you lead daily housekeeping operations with precision, polish, and unwavering attention to detail. You are responsible for ensuring guest rooms and public areas reflect the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and comfort. You actively support the Housekeeping leadership team by coaching associates, conducting inspections, managing workflow priorities, and maintaining the luxury experience guests expect from The Hermitage Hotel. This role requires strong leadership, refined standards, discretion, and a service-forward mindset. Ensuring every space is guest-ready, every time. 3. Key Responsibilities Daily Housekeeping Operations & Shift Leadership Supervise daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all guest rooms and public spaces are cleaned, detailed, and prepared to luxury standards. Assign and prioritize room cleaning schedules based on occupancy, arrivals, VIPs, and special requests. Maintain continuous awareness of room status, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the shift. Support the Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekeeper in achieving department performance goals. Room & Public Area Inspection Standards Inspect guest rooms, suites, corridors, and public areas after cleaning to ensure flawless presentation and brand consistency. Confirm all amenities, linens, guest supplies, and finishes meet presentation standards before releasing rooms. Identify quality issues, maintenance concerns, or detailing opportunities and ensure immediate correction. Maintain consistent standards across all floors, room types, and high-profile guest accommodations. Guest Experience & Service Recovery Ensure guest requests are addressed promptly, discreetly, and professionally. Respond with urgency to guest concerns related to cleanliness, service delays, or room readiness. Communicate respectfully and confidently when resolving service challenges, ensuring guest satisfaction is restored with care and professionalism. Anticipate needs and elevate presentation standards for VIP arrivals and special occasions. Team Coaching, Training & Accountability Supervise housekeeping associates to ensure adherence to hotel policies, service expectations, and cleaning procedures. Provide daily coaching, corrective guidance, and reinforcement of standards through hands-on leadership. Assist with onboarding and training of new team members, ensuring consistent understanding of cleaning methods, safety, and guest expectations. Promote a culture of pride, professionalism, teamwork, and accountability. Interdepartmental Communication & Coordination Communicate consistently with Front Desk, Engineering, Laundry, and Guest Services regarding room status, priorities, and special guest needs. Coordinate with Engineering to report and follow up on maintenance issues, ensuring timely repair and minimal guest disruption. Support Banquets and Food & Beverage teams by ensuring event spaces, restrooms, and public areas remain immaculate during high-volume operations. Inventory, Supplies & Operational Readiness Monitor housekeeping supply levels and report shortages to leadership to ensure uninterrupted operational readiness. Ensure proper use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Maintain organization and cleanliness of housekeeping closets, carts, and storage areas. Safety, Standards & Compliance Enforce safe work practices, including proper lifting, chemical handling, and equipment usage. Ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines and hotel sanitation protocols. Maintain consistent documentation and communication regarding incidents, lost and found, and department needs. Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times, especially in guest-facing areas. 4. Qualifications & Requirements Required Experience & Professional Skills Minimum 3 years of housekeeping experience , including supervisory responsibility, preferably within luxury hospitality. Strong working knowledge of guest room cleaning, public space detailing, and high-standard inspection procedures. Ability to lead a diverse team with professionalism, consistency, and confidence. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize shifting operational needs in real time. Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in English (verbal and written); Spanish proficiency strongly preferred. Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and peak occupancy periods. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, kneel, climb stairs, and perform repetitive physical tasks as needed. Preferred Extras Experience working in a luxury hotel environment with high-volume arrivals and VIP guest expectations. Prior experience supervising room attendants and public area attendants. Familiarity with hotel systems related to room status communication (Opera or similar platforms preferred). 5.
