Environmental Services Supervisor (EVS)Skilled Nursing & Long-Term Care Lead a Team That Creates a Clean, Safe, and Comfortable Home At Wellsential Health, we know exceptional care goes beyond nursing. Position Overview The Environmental Services Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping department within a skilled nursing and long-term care facility. This role is responsible for ensuring cleanliness, infection control compliance, staff supervision, training, scheduling, quality inspections, and maintaining a safe environment for residents, visitors, and employees. Key Responsibilities Environmental Services & Housekeeping Operations Supervise daily housekeeping and environmental services operations. Ensure resident rooms, common areas, dining rooms, offices, and public spaces are clean, sanitary, and welcoming. Maintain compliance with infection prevention and control standards. Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met. Ensure cleaning schedules and assignments are completed accurately and efficiently. Team Leadership Recruit, train, coach, and mentor housekeeping staff. Develop work schedules to ensure adequate departmental coverage. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback. Promote teamwork, accountability, and customer service excellence. Infection Control & Safety Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment. Maintain compliance with OSHA, CMS, state, and facility safety regulations. Support facility infection prevention initiatives and outbreak response procedures. Monitor proper storage and handling of cleaning supplies and hazardous materials. Quality Assurance & Compliance Participate in Quality Assurance (QA/QAPI) programs and facility inspections. Assist in maintaining survey readiness and regulatory compliance. Address environmental concerns identified during audits or inspections. Collaborate with department leaders to improve resident satisfaction and environmental quality. Resident & Customer Service Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff. Ensure resident dignity, privacy, and comfort are maintained during housekeeping services. Respond promptly to housekeeping requests and concerns. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required. Additional training in environmental services, hospitality, healthcare housekeeping, or leadership preferred. Experience Minimum 2 years of housekeeping, environmental services, or hospitality experience required. Prior supervisory or management experience preferred. Experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, long-term care, hospital, hotel, or senior living environment strongly preferred. Skills Knowledge of infection control and sanitation practices. Strong leadership and team-building abilities. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Knowledge of housekeeping equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures.
