Position Type Full-Time/Regular STGi is currently seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to provide services at The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home. The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home is located in Temple, TX. Our staff provides compassionate and specialized care to our nation's veterans. We focus on providing the best experience for residents and their families.
JOB SUMMARY
To support the community by operating the housekeeping and laundry department in a cost effective, efficient manner to safely meet residents' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Follow oral and written instructions. 2. Maintain material data safety sheets current to chemicals used in all departments. 3. Organize and maintain all records necessary to operate the housekeeping department. 4. Develop and implement cleaning schedules for the housekeeping department. 5. Interview and hire appropriate individuals to implement cleaning schedules. 6. Participate in Onboarding process and orient new Team Members to housekeeping duties. 7. Supervise cleaning procedures in accordance with Community policy. 8. Supervise waste disposal procedures in accordance with Community policy. 9. Supervise proper care and use of housekeeping equipment. 10. Identify, report to administration and schedule repair of areas in poor repair. 11. Dispense housekeeping equipment and supplies in a cost-effective manner. 12. Attend in-service training programs for housekeeping Team Members. 13. Follow Community safety program and hold subordinates accountable to same. 14. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality. 15. Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner. 16. Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner. 17. Observe infection control procedures. 18. Follow Residents' Rights policies at all times. 19. Be responsible for the safety of residents related to housekeeping duties. 20. Observe all Community policies and procedures. 21. Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor. 22. Assume Quality Assurance duties as assigned. 23. Come to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance. 24. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, Community staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers. 25. Adhere to break, meal and clock in/out procedures. 26. Ensure the QI process is adhered to effectively and consistently for all team members. 27. All new housekeeping and laundry staff are effectively on boarded and trained within the first two weeks of hire. 28. Housekeeping and laundry scheduling is completed in an effective and efficient manner. 29. Housekeeping/Laundry equipment and supply budgets are managed effectively and any variances are reported to the Administrator. 30. Broken or damaged areas or equipment are consistently reported and addressed. Required SkillsREQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
High School diploma or GED required as well as at least one year in environmental services as a supervisor. Required ExperienceREQUIRED EDUCATION

The physical demands and work environment described herein is a representative of those that generally must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:- This position primarily involves standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing and pulling (typical weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 30 lbs., approximately), and lifting (minimum weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 30 lbs., approximately).
- The position requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone and in person.
- Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.
