Job Description

This is a pm shift position, from 3 pm - 11 pm. This position does require working weekends. MASH Property Management is seeking compassionate and responsible support staff to assist individuals in vulnerable situations. Responsibilities include providing services to clients, ensuring the safety of clients and property, patrolling the premises, de-escalating conflicts, completing assigned daily tasks, and performing janitorial, housekeeping, and unit turnover duties. Job Description Position Overview:
MASH Property Management is seeking dedicated and responsible Safety Support Staff to ensure a secure and well-maintained environment for clients. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to handle emergency situations, and a commitment to upholding safety, cleanliness, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Property Security & Client Engagement:
Conduct hourly patrols inside and outside the building to monitor for safety hazards, suspicious activity, or maintenance issues. Interact with clients in a professional and respectful manner, offering assistance when needed. Pick up trash and debris from common areas and exterior grounds to maintain a clean and welcoming environment. Monitor and enforce property policies, ensuring all clients comply with safety and conduct regulations.
Client Communication:
Wand and search client's belongings, providing guidance and information to clients. Respond to client inquiries, directing them to appropriate resources or staff members. Mediate and de-escalate conflicts between clients when necessary, ensuring a peaceful living environment.
Cleaning & Maintenance Support:
Perform routine cleaning of common areas, including front desk areas, laundry rooms, elevators, hallways, and stairwells to uphold hygiene and cleanliness standards. Assist with weekly room inspections, identifying maintenance needs or safety concerns and reporting them accordingly. Report emergency maintenance needs (such as plumbing leaks, broken locks, or fire hazards) immediately to the shift supervisor or General Manager.
Incident & Emergency Response:
Accurately record client concerns in maintenance logs, incident reports, and communication logs. Coordinate with emergency services, calling 911 and guiding responders upon arrival in cases of fire, medical emergencies, or security threats. Assist with emergency evacuations, ensuring clients follow safety protocols and evacuate to designated areas.
Unit Turnover & Readiness:
Prepare rooms for new clients, including vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, removing trash, and ensuring all areas meet occupancy standards. Identify and report damages or maintenance needs before new clients move in.
Team Collaboration & Additional Duties:
Work closely with property managers, Safety Support Supervisor, and other team members to ensure seamless operations. Support any additional tasks assigned by the shift supervisor or General Manager as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk and patrol the property for extended periods, including navigating stairs and outdoor areas in various weather conditions. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, including trash bags, cleaning supplies, and furniture as needed for unit turnovers. Ability to bend, kneel, and reach while performing cleaning and maintenance duties. Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies, including assisting with evacuations and guiding clients to safety.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in security, property management, janitorial work, or client support is preferred but not required. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle high-pressure situations professionally. Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and stay organized. Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
