Job Description
PACU Janitor Wasilla Environmental cleaning Perform routine and terminal cleaning of PACU bays, pre/post-op areas, corridors, nurse stations, restrooms, and staff rooms. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, patient stretchers, bedside tables, rails, monitors, IV poles, and shared equipment per hospital protocols. Handle biohazard and body-fluid spill cleanups using appropriate disinfectants and PPE. Infection prevention and safety Follow established infection control standards (e.g., contact/airborne precautions signage, dwell times, isolation room procedures). Segregate, label, and transport regulated medical waste and sharps containers in compliance with policy. Maintain floor safety (wet-floor signage, cord management) and report hazards, damaged equipment, or supply shortages. Equipment and supplies Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (auto-scrubbers, floor machines, vacuums) safely. Mix and use chemicals per manufacturer instructions and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Track inventory and request replenishment of cleaning agents and disposables.
