Overview Join our dynamic facilities team as a FT Custodial Operations Assistant and become a vital part of maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a variety of custodial and maintenance tasks that ensure our facilities operate smoothly and efficiently. This position offers an energetic and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the cleanliness and upkeep of our organization's spaces, supporting a positive experience for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Call us today (205) 874-6139. Duties Perform comprehensive cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and sanitizing to uphold high standards of cleanliness. Execute specialized floor care tasks such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain pristine flooring surfaces. Conduct janitorial services across various areas, ensuring restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces are spotless and well-maintained. Assist with residential painting projects and minor repairs to improve facility aesthetics and functionality. Carry out industrial cleaning procedures in large or specialized environments to meet safety and cleanliness standards. Support facilities maintenance activities by reporting repairs needed for lighting, plumbing, or structural issues. Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, supplies inventory, and maintenance logs to ensure operational efficiency. Skills Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services with a strong understanding of commercial and residential cleaning techniques. Skilled in floor care processes including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to restore flooring quality. Knowledge of industrial cleaning methods suitable for large-scale or specialized environments. Ability to perform minor maintenance tasks such as painting or basic repairs in facilities maintenance roles. Familiarity with porter duties including trash disposal, supply restocking, and general building support functions. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness records and schedules. Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform cleaning tasks over extended periods.
