K-8 Reports to: Operations Manager Position Overview Our Belief in the Importance of Teachers At Legacy Prep, you will be part of a community of game-changing educators who are creating new generational legacies for historically underserved youth in Birmingham, Alabama. Primary Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Commitment to School and Culture Vacuum or mop floors Empty trash receptacles Clean & Sanitize bathrooms, urinals, toilets, mirrors, & wet mop floors Immediate clean-up of accidents Remove trash Ensure common areas are cleaned (lobby, cafeteria, library, gym) Ensure adequate supplies Communicate with custodian staff
Additional Responsibilities:
Be available for after school activities as needed
Employment Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
At least two years of custodial experience(preferred) Experience working in a school environment
Skillset:
Ability to operate vacuum cleaner, floor cleaner, and other cleaning equipment broom Knowledgeable about chemicals needed to clean and sanitize Ability to lift 50 pounds
Mindset:
Ability to self-direct and prioritize cleaning and sanitizing The ability to be flexible in a new school environment
