Facilities Technician FLSA:
Non-Exempt Supervisor:
Shelter Manager Position Summary The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across Women & Children First facilities, including the shelter and the Family Peace Center. This role focuses primarily on cleaning, sanitation, and upkeep of shared and high-use spaces to ensure the physical environment supports safety, dignity, and healing for guests, staff, and visitors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities A. Cleaning and Sanitation Removes trash daily from offices, conference rooms, break rooms, public restrooms, shelter dining areas, and all other shared or public spaces. Cleans and maintains floors throughout the facility, including sweeping, mopping, and spot cleaning as needed. Dusts surfaces in common areas, offices, and shared spaces. Cleans and restocks public restrooms to maintain hygiene and safety standards. Maintains cleanliness in shared-use spaces such as the Teen Room, Computer Lab, and other multi-family areas. B. Shelter Room Turnover and Deep Cleaning Performs deep cleaning of shelter rooms after guest move-outs, including bedrooms and bathrooms, once staff have removed personal belongings. Ensures rooms are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and prepared for incoming guests in a timely manner. C. Facility Support and Safety Conducts routine visual inspections of common areas to identify cleanliness or safety concerns and reports issues as needed. Follows all safety guidelines related to cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment. Maintains cleaning equipment and supplies in good working order. Assists with inventory and restocking of cleaning supplies. D. Other Duties Supports a trauma-informed, respectful environment for guests, staff, and visitors. Assists with special cleaning needs related to events, meetings, or emergencies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of basic cleaning methods and safe use of cleaning chemicals. Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety labels. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Strong attention to detail and respect for confidentiality.Position Details Work Schedule:
Full Time The Facilities Technician is a full-time hourly Non-Exempt position. The position requires forty (40) hours per week. Evaluation Performance Employees are evaluated annually based on job performance, adherence to organizational values, and contribution to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for guests and staff. Training Requirements New Employee Orientation. Mandatory staff meetings. Ongoing training related to cleaning practices, safety, and workplace standards as available. Employment Requirements All positions at Women & Children First require successful completion of a criminal background check and child registry check. A valid Arkansas driver's license may also be required, depending on job responsibilities.Pay:
