Waste/Trash Management - Environmental Services / Housekeeping

SUMMARY:

Responsible and accountable for maintaining a clean, sanitary hospital environment and prevention of infectious risks to employees, patients and the community by safe collection and disposal of hospital waste.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

Waste management experience preferred, however willing to train individual with initiative and desire to learn.

License:

Current Arkansas driver's license with a driving record that meets and maintains requirements sets forth by the hospital insurance carrier.

Other:

Ability to understand written and oral instructions and work well with others. Required to attend an Infection Control education class annually. Entry level computer skills required.

Safety Sensitive Designation:

This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to turn, bend, squat, stoop, twist, reach, grasp, lift, push and maneuver cleaning equipment. Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 pounds or more with proper body mechanics. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity. Able to drive company vehicle. Must be able to tolerate cleaning chemicals, etc.

Work Environment :

Specific area assignments of hospital setting. Conditions may be unpleasant at times, due to odors, soiled areas, and body fluids and excretions.
