Immediately Job Description Date Revised February 2020 Status Non-Exempt Salary Level Classified Salary Schedule (A) Work Year 12 months Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent preferred Minimum of one year of custodial experience preferred Valid Driver's License required Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Job Goal Performs custodial duties and minor repairs, assists in sanitation control and checks for security and safety hazards. Provides and maintains a clean, safe and comfortable environment. Essential Duties Cleans school buildings, grounds areas including sidewalks, locker rooms and other areas. Sweeps, dusts, vacuums, scrubs, shampoos, waxes and polishes floors; cleans rooms, corridors, halls, chalkboards and operates cleaning equipment. Washes windows, walls, woodwork and equipment. Empties interior and exterior trash receptacles. Moves furniture and equipment for cleaning and special events. Performs minor maintenance services. Reports safety hazards and needs for major repairs. Assists with building security and reports unusual situations or concerns with student safety or conduct. Ensures sanitation and cleanliness of rest room facilities. Ensures that cleanliness and safety are maintained at entrances to facilities. Keeps trash, leaves and other litter and refuse cleared from the grounds. Inventories supplies and equipment in assigned work area. Maintains proper key count and reports key violations or losses. Performs other duties as assigned. Certificates/Licenses Valid Driver's License required First Aid and CPR Certificate preferred Physical Effort Occasional stooping, bending and/or light lifting Working Environment Occasional discomforts and/or risks from exposure to noise or dirt and dust Supervision Given None Supervision Received Lead Custodian
