This is a temporary position that could turn into longer term that will last through the summer. Must be able to pass a background check, legal to work in the US and good references. Position is 12:30 pm-9 pm and we are hiring as soon as possible. 40 hours per week Pay is $20 per hour Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic Daytime Janitor to join our school community! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors during school hours. Your proactive approach to cleaning and custodial duties will help ensure the facility remains in top condition, fostering a positive learning atmosphere. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with janitorial or custodial experience who thrive in a dynamic environment and take pride in their work. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Maintain floors through buffing and other floor care techniques to ensure safety and appearance. Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and toilet paper to ensure facilities are fully equipped. Conduct light maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs or minor repairs to keep the school in optimal condition. Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored after use. Follow health and safety protocols diligently to prevent hazards and maintain a sanitary environment. Assist with special cleaning projects such as industrial cleaning or deep sanitation as needed. Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience, preferably within a school or commercial setting. Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care, buffing, and industrial cleaning methods. Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus. Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
