The full salary range for the Lead Custodian is $21.05 - $28.89 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. The Lead Custodian leads, guides and performs a variety of custodial/housekeeping tasks to care, maintain, disinfect, sanitize, and preserve campus facilities. Responsible to clean, dust, strip, wax, sweep, mop, polish, disinfect, sanitize, vacuum, replenish restrooms, and remove refuse/recycling throughout campus facilities, conference rooms, elevators, stairwells, exteriors, etc. May work independently or as part of a team in assigned work areas. Oversees critical day-to-day operations in supervisor's absence; acts as a subject matter expert and provides leadership to custodial/housekeeping staff who perform such tasks. Maintains a positive attitude and communicates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty and students. Knowledge, skill and ability to safely use of a wide variety of equipment and machinery common to custodial services including, but not limited to; stripping/buffing machines, vacuums, steam pressure washers, wet/dry shop vacuums, carpet extractors (bonnet, dry, hydro extraction) cleaning machines, raiding flooring cleaning machines, squeegees, brushes, etc. Ability to work effectively; following through on assignments with minimal direction and fluctuating workload. Ability to read write and communicate effectively in the English language with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Willingness and ability to work scheduled, unscheduled and emergency overtime. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge, skill and ability to apply and practice proper procedures for cleaning and maintaining a variety of floor surfaces including, but not limited to resilient tile floors, carpeted floors and terrazzo floors. Ability to work a flexible schedule (weekends and holidays; early mornings, mornings, evening or graveyard shifts), as needed to accommodate campus event schedules.
