PURPOSE OF POSITION

Performs janitorial services at assigned locations. Duties include restrooms cleaning, sweeping/mopping floors, vacuuming, dusting, windows cleaning, floor care, and other janitorial duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Reports directly to the Custodial Operations Manager.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

None.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receives work and safety instructions and answers questions. Communicates with management and co-workers. Responsible for completing all daily, weekly, and periodical cleaning according to standards as specified by the Lead Custodian or Site Supervisor. Tasks include but not limited to: Restrooms

• cleans, disinfects, and restocks supplies. Vacuums
• carpets and hard floors. Trash/Recyclables
• collect and transport from containers to designed area.

Dust, cleans and polishes fixtures, furniture, and equipment. Clean windows, mirrors, and partitions. Cleans and disinfects assigned areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, polishes, scrubs, and waxes floors. Other janitorial duties as assigned Assists in monitoring a running inventory of supplies and maintaining all janitorial equipment required to perform job duties. Uses supplies, chemicals, and power machinery as directed by Site Supervisor/Lead Custodian in accordance with company standards. Report any faulty power equipment immediately to Supervisor/Lead. Notifies Site Supervisor/Lead Custodian regarding any problems with co-workers. Notifies Site Supervisor/Lead Custodian of any special requests or projects.(If training other workers) meets regularly with supervisor/leads to discuss any training concerns. Works overtime as required. Performs other job related duties as required. Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property. Act safely at all times, following all safety rules and regulations. Follows all company policies and procedures. Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork. Assists and shares knowledge and information with other employees as needed. Uses good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness. Works with, trains, and/or acts as a good example for workers receiving training at Goodwill.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior janitorial experience preferred. Prior experience working with people with disabilities helpful.

Ability to operate/work with:

vacuum, broom, mop, various floor machines squeegee and cleaning cart. Ability to stand during most of the shift and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
