This position is responsible for maintaining clean workspaces, removing debris and industrial waste, and ensuring the facility remains organized and compliant with safety standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to maintain consistent productivity in a fast-paced industrial setting. Key Responsibilities Clean and maintain shop floors, workstations, restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas Sweep, mop, and scrub floors, including removal of oil, grease, and coolant spills Safely remove and dispose of metal shavings, scrap materials, and industrial waste Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility Clean machinery exteriors and surrounding areas (machine operation not required) Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and notify supervisors when restocking is needed Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and industrial vacuums Follow company policies and OSHA safety standards Maintain organized work areas and complete assigned duties in a timely manner Assist with general facility upkeep as assigned Qualifications Previous janitorial, warehouse, or industrial cleaning experience preferred Ability to work independently and maintain consistent productivity Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to follow safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines Comfortable working in an industrial environment Physical Requirements (California Compliant) This position requires the ability to perform the following physical activities with or without reasonable accommodation: Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach Lift and carry materials up to 40 pounds occasionally Push or pull cleaning equipment and waste containers Use hands for grasping, cleaning, sweeping, and operating equipment Work in environments with industrial noise, metal dust, oils, and cleaning chemicals Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots Work Environment Industrial machine shop setting Exposure to metal dust, oils, coolants, and machinery noise Required use of PPE at all times in designated areas Additional Information The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including those related to non-discrimination and harassment
