It is a leading producer of organic apple juice, apple sauce and apple cider vinegar. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about creating great products to join our team. This is a full time benefited temporary assignment 8-12 months.Job Summary:
The Sanitation Lead position is responsible for leading the unit to excel on daily performance through attention to people, materials, and equipment. Also is responsible for tracking, in-the-moment troubleshooting, responsiveness, task verifications and review, and improvements within areas of responsibilities. As well as, responsible for cleaning and sanitizing processing and packaging equipment in accordance with all Manzana Products Co, Inc., Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Train and lead sanitation personnel for optimum cleaning efficiency while maintaining established sanitary standards. Motivate and inspire sanitation crew to meet and exceed goals. Lead daily team huddles (at the start and end of shift) to ensure safety, performance, and tasks are communicated and understood. Teach basic safety sanitation protocols to personnel. Monitor employee work habits, GMPs, safety, and adherence to company policies. Resolve minor disagreements and conflicts between personnel. Place individuals in particular assignments to develop their skill or benefit the team's performance. Perform standard cleaning procedures as documented and trained for equipment and facilities. This includes disassembly/assembly, application of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, scrubbing, and rinsing. Verify, organize, and maintain all sanitation records and documents. Use personal protective equipment as required for each cleaning task performed. Monitor the usage of employee supplies. Combine and mix required cleaning agents as documented for each cleaning assignment. Use caution and follow correct handling procedures. Understands safe operation of equipment including safety devices and guards. Understands correct labeling of chemicals and containers. Understand the use of, and safely use, cleaning chemicals. Aspects which include safety, measurements and applications of the chemical. Be able to follow SOP's. Collect and remove all remaining trash from production and packaging lines, and warehouse areas. Dispose of trash in outside trash dumpsters. Collect recycled materials and dispose of in recycling bins. Notify the Sanitation Supervisor or on-duty mechanic of any malfunctioning equipment immediately. Communicate any deviations to Production Supervisors and Manager and report any delay in schedule or unresolved issues to personnel for next incoming shift, to ensure on-time start of production. Understands and monitors water usage. Return all cleaning tools, equipment, chemicals, etc. to the sanitation room after job duties have been completed. Set up line and all equipment to company standards prior to production run. Responsible for establishing priorities and working independently without direct supervision. Follows all Manzana sanitation guidelines. Understand and follow Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Follow safety rules, including those relating to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Overtime hours may be required based on work demand. Employee must be flexible with these hours. Bi-lingual in English/Spanish at a reading & writing level for effective communication with team. Education/Experience High School Diploma, or equivalent and 2+ years of similar experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiar with Manzana Products Co. Inc processes. HACCP certification, or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Knowledge Must have a basic mechanical knowledge working with tools. Be able to Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide. Skills The ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and written procedures. The ability to write simple correspondence. The ability to work at high altitudes and learn to operate mechanical lifts. The ability to work from a ladder or platform in a safe manner. The ability to work inside small, confined spaces. The ability to learn multiple jobs and the proper procedures for performing these jobs. The ability to work both independently and within a team. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. The ability to take previous information and incorporate it into an understanding of a new topic. The ability to fully understand procedures so they are used as basis for decision making. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
