Job Summary Join our school community as a School Custodian and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas of the school are spotless, well-maintained, and properly cared for. Your dedication will help foster a positive learning atmosphere by upholding high standards of cleanliness and facilities upkeep. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and other school facilities using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies Conduct routine janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain hygiene standards Handle floor care procedures including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to ensure floors are safe and visually appealing Maintain cleanliness of windows, doors, fixtures, and furniture throughout the school premises Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, repairing minor damages, and coordinating larger repairs with maintenance staff Support with custodial supplies inventory management and ensure proper storage of cleaning materials Contribute to a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols during all cleaning and maintenance activities Skills Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial work within commercial or residential settings Strong knowledge of custodial procedures including floor care techniques like buffing and stripping Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, extractors, and industrial cleaning tools Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks including basic repairs and upkeep Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to cleanliness and safety standards Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting heavy objects, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the day Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report maintenance issues promptly This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to contribute their custodial expertise in a dynamic educational setting.
