Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee services provided by external contractors for building maintenance and repairs. Supervise, train, and evaluate the Daytime Custodian to ensure high standards of cleanliness and care. Perform light custodial and maintenance tasks as needed to maintain the facility's cleanliness and readiness. Conduct regular drills and equipment inspections; ensure compliance with all relevant safety and emergency protocols. Maintain weekly inventory of custodial supplies and submit timely orders to ensure stock availability. Accept incoming shipments and deliver supplies, equipment, or materials to designated staff or locations within the school. Collaborate with school staff, parent groups, and student organizations to support event logistics, including setup, takedown, and cleanup for school-day and after-school activities. Serve as a designated responsible person on Emergency Contact Lists to ensure rapid coordination and communication during building emergencies. Provide regular updates and communicate facility needs, issues, and improvement suggestions to the School Leadership Team. Support campus safety by performing seasonal maintenance tasks such as snow removal, salting sidewalks, and raising/lowering the flag. Assist with carpool operations, including traffic signage, daily duty station coverage, and coordination of special event parking as needed. Provide event support for school performances, assemblies, and large gatherings, ensuring building readiness and equipment setup. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the smooth operation and safety of the school facility. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach frequently throughout the day Operate cleaning and maintenance equipment such as vacuums, snowblowers, and ladders Work in indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in inclement weather Move supplies and equipment across school grounds, up and down stairs, and between buildings
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma Computer literacy and proficiency Expert-level written and oral communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders Strong self-starter; able to work with limited direction Able to work M-F days; evenings as needed; occasional weekends

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of multiple facilities by supporting feeder area Building Engineers and their evaluating Supervisors with inspections and reports, monitoring supplies, training and direction, and coordinating substitute coverage for absences. Promote a positive working impact by screening, interviewing and recommending for hire, quality individuals and completing all associated paperwork. Support a knowledgeable productive and motivated staff by completing accurate, thorough evaluations of assigned staff including Night Secondary Building Engineer. Assist evaluating supervisors as requested. Encourage and challenge custodial staff to grow. Ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of their facility by supervising, training, and evaluating in-district personnel, submitting accurate and necessary work orders, and monitoring contracted services; perform maintenance, cleaning, and set-up requests within custodial responsibilities generated by staff. Ensure a safe facility by removing snow and ice from all walkways and play areas and assisting all emergency operations and personnel as required. Achieve and maintain a working knowledge of facility systems such as electrical, gas, water, HVAC, controls and emergency shut offs and related equipment. Develop an effective work force by supervising, training, and demonstrating district approved cleaning and restorative methods. Plan, coordinate, and execute all deep cleaning and restorative work during Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer breaks. Ensure stakeholders satisfaction by coordinating and communicating with all appropriate personnel to setup and tear down the added athletic and activities events in the secondary schools while performing setup and teardown for regular and special events. Disinfect after all building events. Utilize custodial crew to meet the needs of the facility by coordinating crew hours including weekend events and emergency situations. Check all boiler rooms daily Promote an efficient building by understanding and implementing sustainability management strategies as required.
