Custodian and Facility Support Hiring Range:
$19.33

75/hourly The City of Grand Junction Parks and Recreation Department is looking for three (3) enthusiastic Custodian to help lead the operations of our brand-new Community Recreation Center (CRC). We are seeking three motivated professionals who are passionate about providing safe and clean environments for our community members. About the
Position:
Under the supervision of the Community Recreation Center Manager, Custodians will perform the daytime and weekend janitorial and facility support responsibilities at the 107,000 square foot CRC. Duties and tasks include a full range of custodial duties related to the care, cleaning, room set-ups, and minor maintenance of assigned spaces throughout the CRC, while ensuring a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for everyone. Due to the operational needs of this recreation facility, this role will work hours outside of standard business hours. The three positions being hired for will have the following schedules: Position 1: Monday
  • Friday, 12:30pm
  • 9:30pm Position 2: Tuesday
  • Saturday, 10am
  • 7pm Position 3: Sunday
  • Thursday, 7:30am
  • 4:30pm About Grand Junction Parks and Recreation The Parks and Recreation Department enhances the quality of life in Grand Junction by maintaining and developing vibrant recreational spaces and facilities for residents and visitors.
The department manages 45 parks, 25 playgrounds, 24 park shelters, 5 indoor recreation facilities, and a multitude of outdoor facilities. This recruitment is happening at a very exciting time, the citizens of Grand Junction voted to approve a ballot question to build a new Community Recreation Center (CRC) with an anticipated opening date of late-2026. The selected candidate will be a member of a team that is excited to open and operate the CRC. What You'll Do Perform indoor/outdoor facility cleaning and maintenance. Set up and/or tear down rooms as necessary, including setting up tables and chairs, pickleball nets, and other gym/facility equipment. Respond to patron needs and requests. Clean, sanitize, and deodorize restroom facilities and fixtures, including sinks, urinals, and toilets. Maintain fixtures and replenish supplies in restrooms. Clean and remove waste at designated locations. Secure facilities after normal business hours. Must be 18+ years. Understanding best practices for cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment. You will be trained in safe work practices, methods, and techniques of cleaning and sterilizing facilities. Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid Colorado Driver License.
