Job Description
Monday-Friday 2nd shift 5:00pm-9:00pm General Custodian Duties Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Empty office trash. Gather office trash and empty to the compactor or dumpster. Pull/push janitor cart with all cleaning supplies up to 25 pounds. Lift paper supplies up to 20 pounds. Clean certain areas with backpack vacuum around 20 pounds Service, clean, disinfect, and supply restrooms. (soap dispensers, paper) Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Clean glass partitions, doors and mirrors. High and low dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Report to supervisor any issues with heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and/or electrical systems. Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Steam-clean or shampoo carpets. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. Clean laboratory equipment following site specifications. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Move furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals. Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, and ladders to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings. Assist supervisor in daily tasks.
