The Day Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of commercial or residential properties during daytime hours. This position ensures that all common areas, entrances, restrooms, and outdoor spaces are clean, well-stocked, and presentable to visitors, tenants, and staff. The Day Porter acts as a visible presence on the property, promptly addressing any maintenance or cleanliness issues that arise throughout the day. By performing routine cleaning, minor repairs, and upkeep tasks, the Day Porter contributes significantly to creating a welcoming and professional environment. This role requires a proactive approach to facility care, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting the broader maintenance team.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or facility maintenance roles preferred but not required. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, with the ability to follow safety guidelines. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working as a Day Porter or in a similar role within commercial or residential properties. Familiarity with basic maintenance tools and equipment. Customer service experience to effectively interact with tenants, visitors, and management. Ability to operate floor cleaning machines and other specialized janitorial equipment.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal in lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other common areas. Monitor and replenish supplies in restrooms and other designated areas to ensure availability and cleanliness. Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel. Maintain outdoor areas by picking up litter, cleaning entrances, and ensuring walkways are clear and safe. Respond promptly to requests for cleaning or maintenance support from tenants, visitors, or management. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies while performing all duties.
