In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining sterile environments to ensure patient safety and compliance with health standards. Your proactive approach will help facilitate smooth transitions between surgeries, supporting our medical teams in delivering exceptional care. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a vital aspect of our center operations while honing your environmental services skills. Responsibilities Thoroughly clean and disinfect operating rooms, including all surfaces, equipment, and fixtures, following strict infection control protocols. Prepare surgical suites by ensuring all necessary supplies and sterile instruments are organized and ready for upcoming procedures. Adhere to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards to maintain a safe working environment for staff and patients. Perform routine sanitation tasks such as floor care, waste disposal, and surface sterilization using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Document cleaning activities accurately, including completion of shift reports and inspection logs to ensure compliance with hospital policies. Collaborate with surgical teams to coordinate turnover activities efficiently without disrupting scheduled procedures. Maintain a high standard of environmental cleanliness, ensuring all areas meet hospital sanitation and safety regulations. Maintain temperature/refrigeration/room logs. Empty linens, assist other departments with cleaning, stocking and organizing. Requirements Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare or hospital settings preferred; experience in environmental services highly valued. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and infection control practices. Experience with hospital or clinical cleaning procedures, including sterilization and sanitation of surgical environments. Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, extractors, and disinfectant sprayers safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere strictly to safety protocols. Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment throughout shifts.
